Jump Rope? Fail!

Today was my second training session for an upcoming stunt-fighting gig, and my calves are burning.

I have never learned to jump rope (always thought it was a girly thing when I was a kid), but because I’m playing a boxer, I have to learn it –- regardless of whether I’m going to be doing so on film or not. All part of that training and development of my character’s backstory.

John (the stunt coordinator) and I also worked on some of the choreography for my brief but pivotal fight scene. Apparently, my fight is what sparks the main character to get serious about boxing and to start studying the Sweet Science with the trainer/co-star.

The choreography went well, but we both know it’s going to change a lot as things develop.

I’ll be back at it this weekend.

You did a great job today Patrick, and just as we talked about today, the director alway’s changes the choreography as we go along, it’s to be expected. Your scene will look really sharp once we get behind the camera , and make the necessary adjustments…You the Man!
