Back Alive from Back Alive

I’m tired and exhausted…but I feel good.

The filming of Back Alive yesterday went well. We shot four sequences (three of them fight scenes) all in less than six hours. That ain’t too bad, especially considering we had no prior rehearsals or training.

I’m most proud of the fact that I memorized all of the choreography within minutes, generally executed my fight moves convincingly, and (perhaps most importantly) performed with minimal notes from the stunt coordinator and director.

Plus, I got to play one of five Grim Reaper-type demons, clad all in black from head to toe. It was a fun challenge to use only body language to express our otherwordly martial arts skills.

At first, I didn’t think much of our wardrobe. But the moment all five of us stood beside each other in the secluded part of Los Angeles’ Griffith Park, I felt a bit of a chill — we actually looked supernatural and menacing!
